Tie Rods
Tie rods are vital for the precise steering mechanism in all vehicles. They connect the suspension and steering system to the front wheels with several joints, so that the wheel turns accurately as you turn your steering wheel. They are made up in two pieces, being inner tie rods and outer tie rods, also called tie rod ends. Both have greased ball joints at the ends to transfer rotational forces through the system. The tie rod end’s ball joints are covered with a rubber boot to keep moisture out and grease inside. These boots can crack over time and allow dirt to get inside the joint which on it’s turn will cause corrosion. The most common symptoms of a faulty or worn out tie rod end are vibrations in the steering wheel, abnormal sounds, abnormal tire wear and vibrations in the car. RC tie rod ends
RC tie rod ends is an abbreviation for Roll Center adjuster tie rod end. They do just as the name says, adjust your roll center. Like most of the other suspension components, tie rod ends suffer from an incorrect angle when you lower your car, it would induce toe during cornering (bump steer). These tie rod ends help correct them.
Super angle tie rods
In addition to the OE style tie rod and RC tie rod ends, Hardrace offers super angle tie rods. They are inner tie rods with the spacer built into the knuckle, they allow the steering rack more travel to achieve a higher steering angle. While with oe the maximum rotation is 3 turns, you can reach up to 3.25 turns with these tie rods.
